Pinewood Derby 2019

Our next Cub-Scout event is the Pinewood derby.

Please note that all Derby related activities starting from the Workshop this Sunday Nov 10, 2019 to car submission to RACE DAY will be conducted in the Mid-cities Multipurpose Hall.

We hope that your children are also eagerly waiting for this activity. Pinewood Derby is one of the few activities that involves bonding with your child especially when parents help, guide, design and build the car together with their children. 

NOTE : Every Cub Scout must be accompanied by their parent or an adult (18 yrs & up)

Pack 758 Pinewood Race Day Entry Cards (Ticket) will be available for purchase.

COST : $10.00 per person ( food included )

Entry Card is FREE for all Cubs who collected the Fundraising Chocolates to sell.

Entry Card is available for PURCHASE ($10.00 per person) for the rest, including all parents, relatives, siblings and friends.

Derby is divided into Three steps and all steps will be held at Multipurpose Hall :

Step 1 :  Purchasing and building the car workshop ( Nov 10th @ 11:30 am to 1:00 pm )

Step 2 :  Final touchup, Submitting the car and getting license.  ( Nov 16th Saturday 8 pm to 9 pm )

Step 3 :  Race day ( Nov 17th Sunday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm )

Step 1 : Sunday Nov 10th, 2019 – DERBY WORKSHOP 
Time : 11.30 am – 1:00 pm
Attire : BLUE Activity T-Shirt.
Cost of cars : $15, $20, $25 (Prices vary according to style)Please bring Cash or Checks to purchase the car kits and the Entry tickets.
Important reminder: Scouts and parents please follow stations as per below at the workshop :

Station # 1——- Attendance  & Purchase entry ticket 

Station # 2——- Purchasing Car

Station # 3——- Assemble the car

Station # 4 —— Carving station

Station # 5——- Add weight/ wheels

Station # 6 —— Painting

Station # 7 —— Final station weigh the car. 

All scouts must purchase the derby car kits from the pack to qualify for the race, and cars from the previous races will be disqualified.

EVERY CUB SCOUT WILL RECEIVE A TROPHY ON RACE DAY !

In addition to Cub-scout derby race we will also include sibling and parents to participate and build cars which is called Outlaw race. One car per family. Results from Cub-Scout and Outlaw race will be kept separate. Maximum 18 Outlaw cars will be allowed.
